Skyline Jerseys For 2014, Group Road Rides

We just got conformation that we should be receiving a fresh stock of Skyline Cycle Jerseys.  I know, I know that those of you who have wanted them in the past have had to wait until like June or July in the past, sorry about that.  This year we decided to get our collective butts in gear and get them here so you can have a whole riding season in them.  We have been told by Cannari that they will be in on the 24th of April give or take a day.  We brought in 30 units in varying sizes to make sure we have stock on hand.

We are looking to start group road rides towards the end of April, keep an eye on the calendar as we get closer and I will make sure to post up the rides and announce them here on the site and on Facebook.  Speaking of April our first sale is just around the corner so get ready for that, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th to be exact.  Hope you are all having a great season so far.

Welcome to the 2014 Riding Season, Spring Sale,Price Matching For Sure!

I am happy to say that it looks like we are starting into what will be an excellent season of riding.  I'm not one that believes that all the cold weather is done, but to heck with it I'll ride anyway. Right up front, thanks for letting us serve your cycling needs, I and the staff appreciate your business more than I can express.

As usual we have our spring sale coming the second weekend in April, usually we only run the sale for three days but as of this year we are extending it to 4 days.  This years sale days will be April 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th and all the sale details are listed on the calendar tab at www.skylinecyclery.com.

Two other things that we have started doing this year are aggressive price matching any bicycle retailers in our area on goods and product as well as adding a consignment area of the store.  With competition increasing in our area we want our customers to know that if they find the same product at any other location locally for a better price, whether on sale or not, we will call and confirm that price and then match it.  This allow you to shop at Skyline Cycle always knowing that you are getting the best price offered period, combined with the best knowledge and customer service.

We have built up an inventory of high quality used gear that has been checked by our staff and  items are on sale as we speak.  As the year continues we will be adding to this area but there are already screaming deals on used gear here.  We have also revamped the percentage we take as retailers to benefit those selling goods.  Let us know if we can help.  Looking forward to the rest of 2014, thanks all, Matt.

Raleigh and Felt Bike Deals, Trainer Sale, Riding Season 2014!

Hey guys hope all is well, just a quick note on a few things that are taking place. Raleigh and Felt are offering deals on their bikes this season for a month or so.  Raleigh is offering a $50 dollar mail in discount on select alloy road and mountain bikes, and $100 off select carbon models during the month of March. Felt is offering a mail in voucher for every Felt bike test ridden from now to April 15th that will enter you into a drawing for a 5 night 4 day trip to Hawaii to check out the IRONMAN championships.  Not bad for buying a bike, or test riding  one.

Spin class trainers are now on sale and I have decided that for $250 you can have the trainer, the block and the mat, MSRP on the trainer alone is $380.00 so this is a nice package to keep you going through cold spells this spring or all of the cold season next winter.  We are also closing out all in stock cold weather gear at 45% right now until its gone.

Other than that welcome to another riding season, thanks for picking us as your store.  If you need anything at all don't hesitate to let us know. Thanks, Matt.

Trail Condidtions!

As a lot of you I have been riding quite a bit already and the trails that are ready have been amazing.  I was thinking though that in a year that has seen the popularity of fat tire bikes and good weather it is still important to remember that the trails that we all love a supper sensitive this time of the year.  I have been on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail North of 12th street for about a week and its stable for riding baring any other adverse weather.  It sounds like the Shoreline South of 12th street is still wet and should be avoided, as you guys are out on trails let us know how they look and we will post it up.

As far as trail conditions, if there are sections of the trail system that are in need of repair flip me a note and we will pass  it along proper channels or organize the work our selves if it is appropriate.  Welcome to another good year, we're excited like you all.

Now Accepting Consignment Items, Bike Tune Up Special!

We have decided with the 2014 riding season quickly approaching we will now begin building consignment stock for those selling and those looking to buy.  As a seller this allows more views of your item which leads to a higher chance of a sale.  As a buyer this will allow you to see what is available and either buy before the season, or save the funds to do so by spring.

We have revamped the percentages that we are using for consignment items and I can tell you as a seller they benefit you way more than last year.

As to the specifics of goods we will be taking we are looking for bike shop level items that are in usable or repairable condition, I will have all the specifics of items accepted up on the website as soon as I can as well as the fees/percentages that we will charge.

As to the tune-up special.  We are currently at a rate of $35 dollars per tune instead of $50.  The special will end at the end of February so you still have a little time to get your bike in and tuned for a deal with only about a 2 day wait time.  We have been taking repairs at a higher rate than we have ever seen this time of the year though which leads us to think it will be an exceptionally busy year this spring.  As always thanks and we are looking forward to a great season.

Spin class will be held at 10:00a.m. for the first session and 11:30a.m..  We were under the impression that 10:00a.m. last week was full but we had a few folks that couldn't make it so there are still spots open.  Make sure to call ahead and reserve a spot for either class.

Now to Fat bike rentals.  We have had such a demand for rentals in this category that we have added an additional two bikes to our rental bike fleet to meet the needs of our customers.  We have added a medium Kona Wo to the fleet as well as another large Salsa mukluk.  This brings our total number of bikes to 4 rentals.  Make sure to call ahead and reserve a bike if you want it for a particular date because they are going out a ton.  Cost is $35.00 per day.  Glad to see people are enjoying these bikes.

The 25th there is a festival that will take place at the Mt. Ogden Golf Course from 10:00a.m. until 4:00p.m. and it is free.

Sunday the 26th there is an Industry Fun Ride planned at Snowbasin, but you have to bring your own bike.
