More Bikes For Christmas, No Bike Class Saturday, Happy Holidays!

For all of you out there still looking to pick up a new bike for Christmas and or gear we have build up about 13 childrens bikes and still have great stock on models ranging from 12" wheel boys and girls bikes all the way up to 24" boys and girls mountain bikes.  We will also receive 6 more adult bikes this afternoon that will be built and on the floor by tomorrow.  As far as accessories we received two new shipments this morning that will fill out the store through the weekend if you need anything let us know because we probably have something on hand that will work.

There is no bicycle maintenance class this Saturday but we will start back on the 7th of January with theory, identification, and adjustment of bicycle derailleurs.  Class will as usual start at 9:00 and go through about 10:00a.m..  Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and thanks for being great.

Bike Class Saturday February The 13th, Wheels, Wheels, Wheels!

This Saturday the 13th we are going to be discussing wheels.  How a wheel works, determining spoke length, replacement of a spoke and the basics of how to true a wheel.  We will begin at 9:00a.m. and will go until around 10:00a.m..  Remember to come through the side doors of the building as the front door will be locked.  See you all there.

Bike Class, Front and Rear Derailleur Adjustment

Tomorrows class will be a repeat of Front and Rear Derailleur identification, installation, and adjustment.  Class starts at 9:00a.m. and will go until 10:00a.m.. Come through the double side doors located towards the back of the parking lot because the front doors will be locked.  See you tomorrow.

Saturday the 24th, Spin Class, Bike Maintenance, Tune-Up Special, We're HIRING!!

This Saturday we will continue with the spin class at 10:00a.m., we still have three spots available if any of you want to jump in.  Remember arrive a little early so you can get your bike ready.

Bike class will begin at 9:00a.m. and will go until around 10:00a.m..  This class will be a continuation of disc brakes and will focus on hydraulic disc brakes.  We will discuss pad wear, mounting, determining fluid type and then will bleed a brake and discuss different bleed procedures.  Come through the side doors.

We are starting to see a good number of tune-ups coming through, keep in mind that our $35.00 dollar tune-up will special will continue until the end of February at which point it will return to $50.00.  With weather like this its ride time already.

We are now accepting resumes for employment.  We will hire by the end of February so bring them down as soon as possible.

Bike Class And Spin Class Saturday February 1st

This Saturday we will continue with spin class and bike maintenance class.  Spin classes will be held at 10:00a.m. and again at 11:30a.m., if you would like a spot in either call ahead or send an email so we can reserve you a spot.

Basic maintenance will be the subject this Saturday. This will be a repeat of the first basic maintenance class taught in December for all those that may have missed it. This Saturday we will cover a description of all the components and how a bicycle works.  We will then discuss how to clean, lube and inspect your bicycle to  keep it running well. We will also remove wheels from the bike, remove a tire from the wheel and identify and patch a hole in the tube. Class will begin at 9:00a.m. and will run for approximately one hour ending at 10:00a.m., plan on arriving a little early and come through the double doors and the North East side of the building.

Bike Class December 21st, Update On Holiday Sales!

This Saturday the 21st of December its all about derailleurs, identification, inspection, removal, installation, and then adjustments.  Regardless of what style of riding you do the theory of adjusting a derailleurs will be the same and what a life saver on long rides.  We will work on both front and rear derailleurs.  Remember to arrive a little early, class starts at 9:00a.m. and will go to around 10:00a.m. come through the double doors on the North East side of the building as the front door will be locked.

At this point in the holiday season we have received about five new orders to replenish our stock.  We are currently sitting with good stock in all the categories of accessories and have on hand full size runs of bikes for your holiday gift giving. Kids bike numbers are still good with at least two bikes per size for both boys and girls.

As far as last orders we will be placing our last bicycle orders by 12:30p.m. on Wednesday the 18th to make sure that they arrive in time for the holidays. Last parts orders for all parts outside of Utah will be on Thursday December 19th by 5:00p.m., all parts available here in Utah will be shipped no later than Friday the 20th at 5:00p.m..

Bike Class, Saturday December 14th

Last Saturday we went over basic maintenance of a bicycle in the bike class and despite a stinking snow storm we still had people here which was great.

This coming Saturday December 14th in bike class will be assessing, describing, removing and reinstalling cables and housing to both the derailleur and brake systems. We will also cover chain wear, removal, installation, and we will go over the use of master links. Class will begin at 9:00a.m. and will end around 10:00a.m.. Come through the double doors an the North East side of the building as the front door will remain locked so we can concentrate.

GoPro Hero3 plus Cameras Are In, Bike Maintenance Class this Saturday.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  Our first shipment of GoPro Hero3+ cameras have arrived and are ready for sale, we have three on hand right now.

Our annual bike maintenance class will begin this Saturday the 7th of December.  Class will begin at 9:00a.m. and will run through 10:00a.m.. Plan on arriving about 5 minutes early so we can get started promptly.  This class will focus on basic maintenance and will provide the foundation for further classes down the road.  We will discuss cleaning, lubrication, inspection of your bicycle, and then we will remove a tire, patch a tube and then reinstall the wheel back onto the bicycle.  If you have any questions send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Calendar Updated Through February 2014

I just finished updating the calendar through the end of February 2014.  All the holidays that we are going to be closed are listed and I put a complete schedule of all the free bike classes that are taught Saturday mornings starting in December and ending in February up with descriptions of each. I am looking forward to teaching this season I hope getting the schedule up early will allow all of you that are interested to plan which classes you want to attend.  Thanks as always.

Bike maintenance classes

Bicycle Brake Class
Saturday, January 14, 2012, 09:00 - 10:00
This session will concentrate on how the bikes brake system operates, types of brake systems, where and when different brake systems are used.  We will learn to identify different pads for different brake systems, talk about different pad materials. Towards the end of the class we will start to adjust a road bike brake system.
The next Class, the 21st, will adjust V-brakes(linear pull brakes), and will continue on into disc brakes both mechanical and hydraulic. We will start the discussion on bleeding hydraulic brake systems and see how far we get.  I will schedule the next class following this the class on the 21st. 9:00a.m.

Bicycle maintenance/tech classes

Just a quick heads up, our winter mechanic and tech classes are now up and going.  Last week we went over basic cleaning, lubrication, and a tire removal and tube patch.  This Saturday we will continue on with a class centered around the drive train of a bicycle.  We will identify the different components that make up a drive train, discuss operation of each piece, talk about installation and generally answer questions. This class will be in preparation for next weeks class where we will adjust a drive train from the ground up.  Classes start at 9:00a.m. sharp and go for and hour ending at 10:00a.m..
