Bike Classes Over For The Season

I had a great time with all of you that attended the bike classes this winter.  I am sorry to bring them to such an abrupt stop.  We have been so busy this week that I have meant to make this post at least 20 times and have failed. Thanks again for allowing me the privilege of teaching the skill that I love, and thanks for being great customer I couldn't do it without all of you.  Looking forward to a great season with all of our customers and friends, here's keeping my fingers crossed for sunny warm weather, Matt.

Bike Class, Cold Weather Gear Sale 25% Off!

Today we will be continuing our discussion of disk brakes and will focus on hydraulic systems.  We are going to discuss different types of hydraulic brake fluids and where and when they are used in different conditions as well as what companies are using fluid wise. We will go over the tools generally needed as well as safety gear needed while working on these brakes.  We will be bleeding a Shimano brake system and then discussing different techniques with other companies. As usual class will start at 9:00a.m. and will go until approximately 10:00a.m..  Use the double doors on the North east of the building.

We are also putting all the in stock cold weather gear on sale at 25% off of msrp.  I know its still winter but spring is just around the corner.  Its a great opportunity to get new gear and just in time to use it.

Back To Regular Hours, Fat Bikes, Bike Class!

Welcome back all, hope the holidays treated you well. Thanks for another great year and we look forward to another. We are back to regular hours of operation and will continue on right through the spring and incoming dirt/ road season.

That being said it seems we are in the middle of a great time to ride fat bikes.  For all of you, including myself, that were asking for snow I guess we got it.  I was comping at the bit to get back open as soon as we had a good amount of snow on the ground.  I haven't been able to get out yet so if you have been on a sweet snow ride let me know and we will pass the word along as well. As you need gear we are fully stocked on cold weather gear, apparel, tires, helmets ect. Hope to see you out there soon.

This Saturday we will be talking derailleurs and will be going over theory, identification and adjustment of both front and rear derailleurs.  Class will begin at 9:00a.m. and will go through 10:00.

This will be a repeat of the first basic maintenance class taught in December for all those that may have missed it. Today we will cover a description of all the components and how a bicycle works.  We will then discuss how to clean, lube and inspect your bicycle to  keep it running well.  Class will begin at 9:00a.m. and will run for approximately one hour ending at 10:00a.m., plan on arriving a little early and come through the double doors and the North East side of the building.

Bike Class This Saturday 12/12! Fat Bike Event Updates To Calendar

So we have formally started this years bike maintenance classes.  Last week was pretty basic but this Saturday we will be assessment, description, removal and installation of cables and housing.  We will also cover chain wear, removal, installation, and we will go over the use of master links. Class will begin at 9:00a.m. and will end around 10:00a.m.. Come through the double doors an the North East side of the building as the front door will remain locked so we can concentrate.

On another note there are a lot of  with a ton of folks getting into fat biking there are new events popping up all over this winter.  We are doing the best we can to put them all on the calendar as we are made aware of them. Man we need some snow though.

First Bike Class For The Season!

Just a quick reminder. Tomorrow is the first maintenance class in this class we will cover a description of all the components and how a bicycle works. We will then discuss how to clean, lube and inspect your bicycle to keep it running well. Class will begin at 9:00a.m. and will run for approximately one hour ending at 10:00a.m., plan on arriving a little early and come through the double doors and the North East side of the building.  We have also scheduled all the other classes through the end of the year, and will get the remainder of the class for next year up on the calendar soon.

Tomorrows class will be a repeat of Front and Rear Derailleur identification, installation, and adjustment.  Class starts at 9:00a.m. and will go until 10:00a.m.. Come through the double side doors located towards the back of the parking lot because the front doors will be locked.  See you tomorrow.

Bike Class And Spin Class Saturday February 1st

This Saturday we will continue with spin class and bike maintenance class.  Spin classes will be held at 10:00a.m. and again at 11:30a.m., if you would like a spot in either call ahead or send an email so we can reserve you a spot.

Basic maintenance will be the subject this Saturday. This will be a repeat of the first basic maintenance class taught in December for all those that may have missed it. This Saturday we will cover a description of all the components and how a bicycle works.  We will then discuss how to clean, lube and inspect your bicycle to  keep it running well. We will also remove wheels from the bike, remove a tire from the wheel and identify and patch a hole in the tube. Class will begin at 9:00a.m. and will run for approximately one hour ending at 10:00a.m., plan on arriving a little early and come through the double doors and the North East side of the building.

Bike Class, Saturday December 14th

Last Saturday we went over basic maintenance of a bicycle in the bike class and despite a stinking snow storm we still had people here which was great.

This coming Saturday December 14th in bike class will be assessing, describing, removing and reinstalling cables and housing to both the derailleur and brake systems. We will also cover chain wear, removal, installation, and we will go over the use of master links. Class will begin at 9:00a.m. and will end around 10:00a.m.. Come through the double doors an the North East side of the building as the front door will remain locked so we can concentrate.

Saturday, March 2nd

This Saturday the 2nd of March we will have the final spin class where we will do a fitness test.  We have spin classes at 10:00a.m. and 11:30a.m.. The 10:00a.m. class is full but there are seven spots available for the 11:30a.m. class.

Bicycle class will be a review of the basic maintenance class.  During this class we will discuss the process of cleaning, lubricating, and generally maintaining your bicycle.  We will also go over the process of removing a wheel from the bike, removing a tire, removing a tube, repair of your tube and then a re-installation of the tube and pressurization.

Saturday, February 2nd

This Saturday, February 2nd we will be having the bicycle maintenance class as well as both spin classes.  Bicycle maintenance will be covering disc brakes.  We will discuss different types of brakes, fluids used in different systems, pad replacement, pad material composition, and then we will make adjustments on both hydraulic disk brakes and on mechanically(cable actuated) disk brake systems.

The first spin class will take place at 10:00a.m. and there are still 2 spots available as of this moment, so if you want in call or send an e-mail and we will put you on the list.  The second session starting at 11:30a.m. still has 7 spots available, call or e-mail if you would like to be put in this class as well.  Remember to show up 10 minutes early to get set up.  I'll tell you what though this warm weather has me itching to get out, spring is definitely on the way.

Summer Basic Manitenance Class, June 30th, Group Ride 06/13/12

Just a quick note on the class on the 30th 9:00a.m.-10:00a.m.  If you are planning on coming will you drop a note on our Facebook or an email that way I have an idea of who is going to be there and how much room I need.

On a different note the ride for tomorrow is on baring any natural disaster. Meet up at 6:00p.m., leave at 6:30p.m. As always look forward to seeing everyone.

Saturday Spin Class and Bike Maintenance Class 01/21/12

Back to business Monday the 9th
