Kona Demo 20-22nd Of April, Trail Dig 22nd Street Saturday Morning!

Couple of cool things happening this week.  Starting Thursday morning at opening we will have 9 Kona mountain bikes here at the store to be taken out for demo.  The Kona demo guy has asked that we get a copy of a drivers license, and hold a credit card and then you can go out and try one of these sweet bikes.  He will have Hei Hei Trails, Hei Hei Dl, Process 134's and 153's and a carbon Honzo.  We want rides to last at most an hour and half and then we would like the bike back so other people can ride them as well.

Saturday April 22nd at 8:00a.m. we will be meeting at the 22nd street trail head to do some finish up work and a section of trail that was just put in a couple weeks ago.  It awesome to do trail work because it rocks but this Saturday Comcast will be donating money to Ogden Trails for every volunteer that shows up. Bonus right we get get trail work done, we get to ride sweet sections that we maintain and Ogden trails gets more money to make and maintain more trails.  I'm in, see you all there. I will have tools, bring gloves, a hat and some water,  If you have any questions give a call to 801-394-7700, or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Trail Work Saturday October 25t!

We have a couple of things to get out there today.  Tomorrow, October 25th there will be a trail work group meeting at 9:00a.m. at the top of 2750 N in North Ogden.  To get there either go up 2600 N until you hit mountain road then turn left headed North and the trail head will be a block or so on the right/east side of the road, or if you are coming from the South get on Harrison Blvd and follow it all the way north until you hit the stop sign at 2600 N, continue straight through the stop sign and again look for the trail head on the right or east side of the road.

Trail Condidtions!

As a lot of you I have been riding quite a bit already and the trails that are ready have been amazing.  I was thinking though that in a year that has seen the popularity of fat tire bikes and good weather it is still important to remember that the trails that we all love a supper sensitive this time of the year.  I have been on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail North of 12th street for about a week and its stable for riding baring any other adverse weather.  It sounds like the Shoreline South of 12th street is still wet and should be avoided, as you guys are out on trails let us know how they look and we will post it up.

As far as trail conditions, if there are sections of the trail system that are in need of repair flip me a note and we will pass  it along proper channels or organize the work our selves if it is appropriate.  Welcome to another good year, we're excited like you all.

Trail Work Rescheduled

Ok, so mother nature pretty much shot down any chance of working on the trial this weekend.  I was in touch with Weber Pathways and they got in touch with the gentleman  from IMBA that is building the trail and it was decided that there is no need to suffer this weekend when there will be plenty of nice days coming.  What we decided was to reschedule for next Saturday which is the 3rd of November.

Plan on meeting at the gate at the end of mountain road.  To get there you act as though you were going over the Divide, as you head east towards the mountain take a left on 1050E and follow until you hit 3300N, turn left or east and follow to Mountain Road, turn left and follow to end, find nice out of the way place to park and get ready to dig.  If you have any questions call 801-394-7700, or send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Thanks Trail Work

Dig was awesome this morning.  This trail when it is done will be a very fun flowing trail, contoured with berms and features that will make it challenging for riders of all different levels.  Special thanks to Eric Greenwood for digging a little dirt with us this morning.  I will keep putting up dig times so maybe we all can ride this sucker before we have snow on the ground.

Trail Work Friday September 28th

I was ask by Weber Pathways if we would be willing to go and dig on the new trail coming off the North Ogden Divide this Friday the 28th at 8:30a.m., I said we would love too.  They will be having us go over work that has been started by IMBA, basically smoothing and finishing after the trail cat has run over the route.  In addition to getting work done on the trail it was mentioned that the Standard Examiner would be coming up to do an article.  As before in previous posts remember that in addition to volunteering Skyline Cycle will offer 25% off any one accessory if you show up and do a little digging with us.  I will have the discount cards there with me.  If you are interested we will meet at the first pull on the right and or south side of the road as you head up the North Ogden Divide out of Ogden. Questions give a call to the store 801-394-7700, or shoot and email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Trail Maintenance, September 23rd, Douglas Trail Head

We will be working on the Douglas trail head this Sunday September 23rd at 8:00a.m..  We will be performing trail restoration and marking re-vegetation areas that are being improperly used instead of the trail.  We will also be working on slowing water flow down the trail and also through a number of ravines that intersect the trail as it switch backs up toward the canal road and the above trail systems.  Douglas street is located on the east side of the road as you travel north on Harrison blvd towards 2nd and Harrison.  If you reach the gas station on 2nd and Harrison you have gone to far.  Once you find Douglas follow it all the way up to the parking lot and we will be working directly above the parking area.  All you need to bring is yourself, some closed toe shoes, gloves and water. Hope to see you there.  If you have any questions call 801-394-7700, or send an e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
